Not receiving messages in Gmail

Good Update: Things are fixed, and all Gmail users are good to go once again. See that Slashdot post for more details. I came home to 77 new messages, so that scared me (I set my Google Groups settings incorrectly, don’t worry). 🙂

Update: I think this Slashdot article “Gmail Messages Are Vulnerable To Interception” explains part of the reason. In the Gmail Help Discussion, it’s speculation that perhaps this is why we can’t receive messages. Perhaps Google is working on the problem. I hope.

This is definitely not good. I haven’t received any messages in my Gmail account since maybe 3:30pm PST yesterday. I’m in the Google Group Gmail Help Discussion. Look for the post “Why I don’t receive any message”. It was probably started by a non-English speaking person. In any case, I’m not alone. This is just to let you know if anyone hasn’t gotten a reply from me yet – I don’t have your email to reply to as of now. 😦

  1. I get extrememly paranoid when I do not receive e-mail messages. I’ve been having my Gmail account forwarded to another account. I was wondering why it seemed “quiet” a few days ago.

I keep forgetting to add your blog to my daily reads! Will do so tonight.
