I just read GFMorris’s post “How and Why I Use Last.FM“. With that, I’ve signed up at Last.fm, personalized my profile, and installed the plugin and player into my system. Oh yeah, and I edited my status page to reflect my recently played tracks. Unfortunately, I haven’t been at my computer regularly. I wish there was a way to stream all the data from iTunes, because I listen to music from my iPod more than from within iTunes. In any case, I’m new at this, so any helpful hints about Last.fm would be cool. 🙂
I’m humbled, Bryan, that my arguments tipped you over into the Last.FM world. I hope that you’ll derive as much enjoyment from using Last.FM as I have.
As for asynchronously dumping iPod play data through to AS/Last.FM via plugin, I agree. I’ve found that I can compensate for it by simply adjusting my playlists to the best of my remembrance; for example, I’ll have to ensure that I leave the office machine running through my Elliott Smith library tomorrow because of how much I listened to that last night while sleeping.

I have been using Last.fm for a while now. Brilliant, isn’t it? It used to be Audioscrobbler when I installed it. As I mainly play my music through Winamp, I downloaded the plugin to feed my playlist so all the music I play can be viewed via the link in my side bar. Very cool. You will enjoy it.
