Photo taken by me at the Santa Monica Pier
I had such a fun time in Santa Monica, I’m going to another one this Sunday! Plus, I’ve inspired four friends to come, too.
Tips
- If you are going, bring make some contact cards where we can email you and see your photos. I’m basically out of Moo Mini cards, so I’m going to type and print my information on index cards.
- Charge your battery and bring an extra one if you have it.
- Bring multiple memory cards.
- Bring a tripod. If you don’t have one, borrow one.
- Skim through your camera manual if you haven’t in awhile. (via Epic Edits Weblog, “Quick Tip: Go Read Your Camera Manual”)
Brian Auer wrote his tips at his blog, Epic Edits, in more detail.
Man, I really wanted to go to this walk on Sunday — but it’s too dang far for a Sunday night. Have fun up there, I look forward to seeing everybody’s photos on Flickr and Zooomr.

I’m definitely stretching it by going to this one. From Arcadia/Temple City, it’s twice the distance for us compared to Santa Monica. But, I’m sucking it up for my co-worker who wouldn’t go without me.
It’s depressing he won’t get to meet the awesomeness that is Brian Auer, but there’s always next time. 🙂

If it was a Saturday, I probably would have done the 3 or 4 hour commute and got a hotel for the night or something. I’ll be more inclined to go on photowalks south of LA — otherwise it’s just too far from Paradise… I mean San Diego.
And the awesomeness that is me — whatever, you just want to borrow my telephoto zoom lens.

Dang, you came to Santa Monica from San Diego? That’s insane! Then again, Thomas Hawk came from S.F. Yeah.
I wouldn’t mind going on a photowalk at a cool place between L.A. and San Diego.
And…and…sue me! So what if I envy your telephoto zoom lens? 😀
