I know some of you wonder why carry my camera everywhere and take photos everyday. I feel compelled to let you inside my head.
I like capturing the beauty and magic in life
It’s easy to get into a rut. Photography inspires me to go to places and see things I normally wouldn’t if I were just watching TV or playing video games. I could browse Flickr and see photos, too, but each person brings a unique point of view. I want to bring mine.
Friends and coworkers encourage me, pointing out that I see things they wouldn’t unless I’m around. That’s magical and it inspires me to continue.
I want to improve my photos
Practice helps create compelling photos. To push myself, I’m currently part of the Flickr group, “2008: A Year in Pictures,” which consists of taking one photo a day.
I want to inspire people
I like portraits, street photography, band photography, landscapes, fascinating architecture, and sky. I like nature and animals, too. (That covers a lot, huh?)
When I’m using the Metro or walking the streets of Los Angeles, everyone is in their own world. Their earbuds are in place with music blasting. Others have their eyes on a page in a book or newspaper, reading their favorite fiction or catching up on the latest news. But, I know that each person on that subway or light rail car has a story. I want to capture that, even if no words can be exchanged.
Of course, there are others that are begging to share their story, but nobody will listen. I want to bridge that gap.
There are awesome sights around Los Angeles, but not everyone sees it. I want those office dwellers to go outside and look around.
In a society where communication is so easy through the internet, we see each other face to face less frequently. I’m trying to bring that back, somehow.
I think there was a time when a lot of people had a twinkle in their eye, ready to take on the world. Not so much anymore. Please, come back.

i really like how you express yourself. but i would like it to be an easier answer to the question, “why do people take pictures of nature?” i have a project to do and whenever i look that question up, no body ever answers a question like that. and i highly think you could.
