Revisiting my private journal with TiddlyWiki

In 2007, between the months of April and December, I kept a private journal on my computer. I don’t know why I stopped.

I want to start writing in my journal again, so I’ll try again with a fresh TiddlyWiki. For a customized look, I installed the K2Blog theme from TiddlyThemes.

Sadly, TiddlyWiki doesn’t seem to be popular, so I don’t know of a site with newer themes. Don’t ask.

Do any of you keep a private journal? Online or offline? What program or service?

  1. Sarah still uses LiveJournal and she likes it. It surprisingly still has a very active userbase, despite its age.

Ive kept my journal on various forum installs, as they give me the most control on various things. I tried wordpress, but it felt too much like blogging, and not enough like keeping a journal. I would recommend the forum route, but I realize that isn’t for everyone.

  2. I’ve tried a couple times, both with dedicated “journal” programs. One of the reasons was that they both had the proper protocols to push a post out to wordpress if I decided that post was worth posting on my blog.

Other than that, I would think about an offline copy of wordpress. requires a bit of setup to get running, but virtually unlimited themes.
